The impact of instability in the Sahel, security and migrations in Libya, greater inclusion of civil society actors and the fostering of economic and commercial integration in the Western Mediterranean. These are some of the issues that Med Think 5+5, the network of think tanks created last year by the IEMed in the framework of the 5+5 Dialogue, explores in its work plan for 2017.
In its first meeting of the year, held this afternoon in Barcelona, the scientific committee of the network discussed the work plan for 2017, based on three fundamental pillars: the commitment to joint research in agreed issues of interest, fostering dialogue between the institutions supporting the initiative ─ including the Union for the Mediterranean and the Arab Maghreb Union ─ and the improvement of external communication, focused on the implementation of a website to strengthen the promotion of its activities.
