On the occasion of the 9th Conference of the Group of Western Mediterranean Ministers of Transport (GTMO) in Nouakchott, the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) organised a workshop of the Med Think 5+5 network. With the support of the Centre for Transport Studies for the Western Mediterranean (CETMO), this meeting brought together more than twenty experts and focal points of the 5+5 Dialogue in a multidisciplinary debate on transport, logistics and infrastructure in the Western Mediterranean.

Under the title “The Road to Integration: Transport and Logistics in the Western Mediterranean”, this thematic seminar reviewed the challenges and opportunities of physical and economic integration in the Western Mediterranean through appropriate infrastructure capable of promoting the equitable and sustainable development of the territory.

During three sessions held in the days preceding the ministerial meeting, public representatives, researchers and private stakeholders discussed issues related to North-South connectivity, the development of a multimodal network in the Western Mediterranean and the public and private management of these projects.
